Q. What is EZ-Find!?
A. EZ-Find!? is an award winning patented system that consists of a hand-held transmitter (EZ-Finder) with a microchip and an LCD screen. This “finder” unit can keep track of up to 25 easily misplaced items within a 60 to 100 foot range using programmable EZ-Find! tags.

Q. Where can I purchase EZ-Find!?
A. EZ-Find!? is available at www.ez-find.com. It can also be purchased on Amazon.com.
Q. How does EZ-Find!? work?
A. EZ-Find!? utilizes RF (Radio Frequency) technology. It consists of two interactive products. The first is a hand-held locator or the EZ-Finder and the second is a series of replaceable tags called EZ-Find!? tags. The EZ-Finder Handheld stores tag identification codes in its memory once a specific tag is programmed A programmed tag responds to the EZ-Finder by transmitting a found RF signal. If the Transmitted and stored tag identification codes match, than the EZ-Find!? Tag, if is in range, will remit a loud audio beep allowing the user to find the lost item.

Q. How many items can I keep track of with my EZ-Find!??
A. Up to 25 items can be tracked with the EZ-Find!? system.
Q. How far is the range that EZ-Find!? can locate lost items? Will the EZ-Find!? Tags work through obstacles such as cushions and walls?
A. The range outside can be as much as 100 feet. The range inside is 60 feet but can be reduced within corners and physical obstacles such as cushions.

Q. Are there instructions?
A. Yes. There is a Users guide located on the product support page.

Q. What is the size of the EZ-Finder Handheld?
A. The handheld is 4.9″ high x 2.8″ wide x 1″ deep.

Q. How much does the EZ-Find!? Handheld weigh?
A. The handheld weighs 3.7 ounces with the batteries included

Q. What is the size of the EZ-Find!? tag?
A. Each tag is 1.8″ high x 1.33″ wide x .175″ deep.

Q. What is the weight of the EZ-Find!? tag?
A. Each tag including the battery weighs .4 oz.

Q. How loud is the beeping sound?
A. The sound is loud at 92db @ 1 inch.

Q. How many Tags can be tracked with each EZ-Find!?
A. 25 individual tags can be tracked with each EZ-Find!?

Q. How do I attach the Tags to the items I wish to track?
A. The tags can be attached to keys using the key ring loop included in the package or your own key ring loop. The tags can be attached to other items using a strong adhesive also included in the package.

Q- Can I just use tags with the numbers in the menu rather than personalize it?
A -Yes. The EZ-Find!? set up includes a quick programming method outlined in the attached instructions. Here is the download. Its EZ. Just go to the menu item you want to program. 1.. 2.. up to number 25. Then take one of the tags, turn on the tag switch and the tag will beep once. Press the find button and your done.

Q. How do I personalize a tag?
A – The EZ-Find!? set up includes instructions for text entry. This can be done after the tag has already been programmed to a number on the menu or it can be done when the tag is first programmed into the EZ-Finder. The difference is that after you turn the EZ-Finder on you press the E (Entry button) and then go to the menu item you want to personalize. After you follow the instructions to add the text.. then you take one of the tags and turn on the tag switch and the tag will beep once. You press the FIND button again and “PROGRAM?” will be displayed.. Click here to follow the rest of the instructions outlined in the Users Guide.

The EZ-Find! system has been improved to include a battery replaceable tag which will make it easier for customers to continue using the same tag once the battery fails after long term use. The tags will have to be programmed once a new battery is installed. Any customer who has the older tag model with the on-off switch on the side is asked to email Basix at info@ez-find.com to receive new tags free of charge once their batteries run out.

The batteries are not factory installed and will be included in each Box content. To program a tag, take one of the EZ-FIND! tags provided in the starter kit and use a coin to open the battery cover on the back of the tag. Insert the battery on top of the circular clip making sure the battery is inserted under the two hooks on the perimeter of the battery opening. The tag will beep once when the new battery is installed. Place the battery cover back on with the arrow on the cover just to the left of the arrow on the back of the tag . Turn clockwise. the cover should snap into place. Follow the rest of the instructions outlined in the User’s guide.

Q- How long can a text entry be?
A – For menu items 1 thru 9, you can enter 11 alpha numeric characters for a total of 12. For menu items 10 thru 25 you can enter 10 alpha numeric characters for a total of 11.

Q- What if I change my mind and don’t want to personalize the tag?
A – Just press the “E” button and it will take you out of program mode back to the menu item on the EZ-Finder.

Q- Can I change the description of the text entry after its been programmed?
A. Yes. After the EZ-Finder unit is turned on, Press the “E” Entry button. Scroll to the menu item you want to change. At the flashing “?” delete the original text using the E button and replace text with the new entry. Follow the remaining instructions identified in the User Guide.

Q. What type of batteries are used?
A. The Handheld uses 2 AAA batteries (not included). Each Tag uses one CR 2032. battery (included)

Q. How long will the batteries last?
A. Battery life will depend on use. The battery in the handheld over normal use should last over a year. The battery in the tag are specified at approximately 400 days.

Q. How can I save Battery usage?
A. The EZ-Finder is set to turn itself off after 2 minutes of non use. When the batteries in the EZ-Finder are low the display will begin to fade. The batteries in the tag will only be consumed if the tag switch is turned on. If the tag is not being used keep the tag switch on to the OFF position to extend battery life. The tag battery has a low battery warning feature whereby the tag will beep every 5 minutes when the battery is losing power. When this appears plan to replace the EZ-Find!? tag with a new one. If no more tags are available from the starter kit, additional tags can be purchased in sets of 2 separately.

The new battery replacement tags do not contain an on-off switch. If the tag is not being used do not install the button cell battery until it is ready to be used.


Q. What’s included in the EZ-Find!? system?
A. The EZ-Find? system includes One EZ-Finder transmitter, 4 EZ-Find!? tags, 4 Key ring loops, 4 Adhesive strips, a pin, Tag Number labels and User Guide.
